THE TRI-STATE RE-USE CENTER

The Tri-State RE-use Center is a non-profit clearing house which collects, repairs, and redistributes salvaged materials.

These materials include: building supplies, household items, white goods, and computers. The warehouse is set up as a training and employment opportunity for local people, mainly youth. A high priority is to be self-sufficient, This proves that reuse/recycling is cost-effective and ensures the future stability of the Tri-State RE-use Center, Ltd.

PROGRAMS:

DON'T DUMP, DONATE

The RE-use Center collects, stores, and redistributes usable salvaged building supplies. Materials destined to reach a permanent death in are landfills are rescued to create a higher standard of living.

WHITE GOODS

Previously owned, energy-efficient appliances, such as stoves and washing machines, are repaired and redistributed to low-income families. Salvage becomes usable materials.

RECYCLABLE SCRAP COLLECTION

Glass, metals, and plastic are sold to recyclers. Area community groups are encouraged to stage drives which earn funds for their projects.

DECONSTRUCTION

Systematically dismantling a building to attain as many reusable materials as possible. A large quantity of doors and fixtures are salvaged which are in high demand by low-income families.

COMPUTER

The RE-use Center will funnel an increasingly necessary tool, the computer, to other non-profit programs and the needy. Donated by individuals and the corporate sector, these computers would be repaired by volunteers and unusable parts would be recycled for scrap.
